How to play nom.quest
nom.quest is a cozy pantry of nine tiny daily brain games — a fresh puzzle in each, every day. Here's how every game works, with a quick tip for each. New here? Start with Letter Hop or All Green.
Letter Hop — daily word ladder
Climb from the start word to the goal word by changing exactly one letter at a time. Every rung must be a real word.
Tip: work backwards from the goal too — meeting in the middle often finds the shortest ladder.
Play Letter Hop →Witch's Brew — combine & craft
Start with four elements and drag two together to brew something new. Keep combining discoveries until you reach the day's goal.
Tip: basics stack — Water + Fire → Steam, and Steam feeds dozens of later recipes.
Play Witch's Brew →Group By Vibe — sort the words
Sixteen cards in four face-down stacks — you only see the top of each. Tap one to pick it up, then tap the group it belongs to — four groups, exactly four cards each.
Tip: not sure about a card? Play a different stack. When a group fills up it closes, so a card that could fit two groups is settled by whichever one still has room.
Play Group By Vibe →All Green — daily Lights Out
Tap a tile and it flips itself and its neighbours. Make the whole board green within the move budget.
Tip: solve it row by row — clearing the top row is forced by the row beneath it.
Play All Green →Don't Bonk — foggy maze
The walls are hidden in fog. Peek to reveal a few, draw your route, then run it — hit a wall and the run ends.
Tip: spend peeks near forks and the finish, not on the open start.
Play Don't Bonk →Peekasso — draw it blind
You get a word and a blank sheet, but you cannot see your own drawing as you make it. You have one peek — half a second, after a countdown so you can decide what you want to look at — and a limited amount of paint. There is no undo: every stroke is final.
Hit Done to see what you actually drew, then send it to a friend. They see the picture but not the word, and have to guess. Guess theirs back and the rally keeps going.
Play Peekasso →Unjam — sliding block puzzle
Slide the candy blocks out of each other's way to free the heart through the gap on the right.
Tip: find the one block that must move last, then clear its path.
Play Unjam →Reckon — reach the target
Combine the numbers with +, −, × and ÷ to hit the target. Each number can be used once.
Tip: work back from the target — factor it to spot which pair to multiply or divide.
Play Reckon →Sixdoku — daily 6×6 mini sudoku
A bite-size 6×6 sudoku: every row, column and 2×3 box holds the numbers 1 to 6.
Tip: hunt for a row or box that's missing just one or two numbers to get moving.
